Jongmyo Jerye, a ritual service for Royal ancestors, performed on the first Sunday of May each year. Jongmyo (designated as a World Cultural Heritage by UNESCO in 1995) is a Confucian shrine where the ancestral tablets of kings and queens of the Joseon Dynasty are enshrined. The Ukranian-born widow of the last heir to the Koreaqn throne, now living in the U.S.
